LEMA is a company that since 1969 is a national and international leader in the production and supply of rubber-metal spare parts and high quality gaskets for all major European truck and bus brands.
The problems were related to the limits of space now reached by the structure and safety of the operators as well as the need to increase the level of security of items in the warehouse. The company has decided to dismantle hundreds of square meters of traditional warehouse shelves to install an automated system that allows you to work at "man level".
The positive results were immediately visible. No more stairs to reach the pieces necessary to finalize the order and the picking operations have become much simpler and safer for those working in Lema.
The problems related to space have been solved: the development of vertical warehouses has allowed the recovery of 90% of the surface to the ground. The operator simply needs to type a code on the touch screen and the system brings the drawer to a man height.
The Copilot has completely eliminated the paper: all requests are digitized and ordered by the software that also records the in / out movements required by the machines. The LED bar allows you to identify the requested article without wasting time. Finally, the speeding up of picking operations allowed Lema to increase its turnover.
