Warehouse automation for the Automotive industry: Pacific Coast Heavy Duty Truck

Pacific Coast Heavy Truck Group is an authorized Volvo subsidiary that sells trucks for the Canadian branch of Chilliwack. The new branch was opened in November 2017.

The main problem was the small boxes and the spare parts spread around the warehouse. Finding the products was quite complex and consequently the operator lost a lot of time searching them. In addition, the space was already occupied and it starts to be extremely necessary to create new spaces.

Tracked goods and more than 80% of the space recovered with Modula automated storage systems

Thanks to Modula, the 80% of the space was recovered. From the first day, the dimensions of the shelves have been customized. It's a very simple thing. All the necessary grooves are already there: it's all about measuring and mapping the shelving.

Speaking about the loading of the machine, once they have established the measures and understood how to bring them back to the main system, it's all very simple and fast. It’s easy to teach too. One of the most important things is checking the quantities taken.
Modula will pick up the list of items without stopping the process and automatically switching to the next one.
