Modula Driver enables high level warehouse management by sending handling orders (picking, placing or inventory).
These orders are typically sent via tables or text files: basically, lists of trays to be sent to the bay with associated picking data.
Modula Driver does not manage item master data, stock and locations (compartments), since it is the task of the ERP to know the exact location of the codes to be picked or placed.
For each operation, the ERP also sends the information related to the tray to be handled and the Driver simply transfers the data.
When the Driver receives the request from the ERP, the operator, from the Modula console, can see the orders that have been received and decide which ones to fulfill.
On the console of the Modula storage system, the data related to each operation – to be confirmed by the operator upon completion - is shown on the picking page. If the order changes or not all the required items are available, the operator can only change the confirmed quantity.
Once the order has been completed, the Modula Driver can submit the outcome of the operation to the ERP, which reacquires control and proceeds with its own workflow.
This system can manage:
• Order preparation areas (with the possible addition of the Put-to-Light accessory)
• Storage system history and statistics
