The Company
For over 21 years, La Capital has specialized in the production and distribution of seals for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid management applications, serving all the main industrial sectors of the country with 9 branches.
The Challenge
Managing an inventory with thousands of fast-moving items requires both precision and speed. Before the arrival of Modula, operators took between 20 and 40 minutes to complete an order, walking through the entire warehouse with picking lists that could include up to 50 order lines. The idea of a Vertical Lift Module therefore came from the need to:
- Reduce picking and shipping times
- Improve ergonomic conditions for staff, reducing fatigue and the risks associated with daily operations
The Solution
In 2023, La Capital installed its first Modula Lift ML25D with internal single bay unit of 8.1 meters high, to optimize picking, improve operator ergonomics, and save floor space. The results were so remarkable that in 2024 the company expanded the project by installing two more Modula Lift ML25D units, reaching a storage capacity of around 5,000 fast-moving product codes.
Each Modula is equipped with:
- Modula WMS, directly integrated with the company’s ERP
- Copilot touch console
- Laser pointer
The Results
Thanks to Modula automation, La Capital can now boast:
- Orders fulfilled in just 5–10 minutes (compared to the previous 20–40 minutes)
- Seamless integration between WMS and the company’s ERP, with orders loaded directly from the management system into the warehouse
- Optimized warehouse space and better inventory management
- Reduced operator fatigue, improving ergonomics and workplace safety
The Future
The collaboration between La Capital and Modula doesn’t end here: the purchase of another 4 Modula units is already planned, one of which will be dedicated to production for storing bars used in the manufacturing of seals. The goal: to further increase efficiency, eliminate picking errors, and guarantee customers an even faster and more reliable service.
