Flexcon, a leading company operating in several industrial sectors, faced increasing challenges in warehouse management: rising volumes, the need to optimize space, and greater efficiency in picking flows. Before automation, material handling and order preparation required significant time and resources, with high error margins.
The Solution
To meet these needs, Flexcon decided to integrate multiple Modula solutions within its logistics flow, in synergy with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and advanced picking systems.
Installed units:
- 2 Modula Lift ML25
- 1 Modula Lift MX50D
- 2 Modula Lift MX25D
All Modula Lifts reach a height of 11,700 mm, fully exploiting vertical space and ensuring high storage capacity.
Technological integration
- MiR Robot: autonomously manages transport between Modula units and production lines, reducing manual movements and improving flow continuity.
- Put to Light with Advanced Picking: optimizes order preparation, guiding the operator during retrieval and minimizing errors.
This combination created an automated, connected system able to link the different floors of the facility and synchronize logistics flows.
The Benefits
Thanks to the integration of Modula, MiR Robot and Put to Light, Flexcon achieved:
- Increased storage capacity with up to 90% floor space recovered
- Faster picking with continuous, interruption-free flows
- Error reduction in order preparation
- Improved safety through fewer manual movements
- Operational flexibility with scalable, adaptable automation
The Voice of the Protagonists
In interviews with project leaders – Tomáš Sekyra (CEO of Flexcon), Marek Besperát (Project Manager at Flexcon), Tomáš Rada (Sales Manager at Bohemia – SysTech Group), and René Holman (Head of the Robotics Department at DREAMland) – it emerged that choosing Modula was a strategic decision for warehouse evolution:
- Connecting multiple floors guaranteed continuity and fluidity of flows.
- Integration with mobile robots helped with labor shortage and eliminated bottlenecks, increasing overall efficiency.
- The Put to Light system improved operator experience and made processes more intuitive.
Looking Ahead
With the results already achieved in terms of productivity and error reduction, Flexcon is now focusing on further steps in automation, aiming to make logistics flows even faster, safer, and smarter.
