Over $36 million investment to support growth in the North American market

Modula announces a major expansion of its manufacturing facility in Franklin, Ohio, with an overall investment of more than $36 million. The project includes a 15,800 m² expansion that will double production capacity and merge all logistics operations currently spread across several locations. The work is scheduled for completion in early 2026 and will lead to the creation of around 60 new jobs in the area.

This expansion is part of a broader strategy to consolidate manufacturing and logistics operations under one roof, improving operational efficiency and reducing lead times for North American clients. The existing facility will be repurposed to handle logistics and shipping operations.

“With growing demand in the North American market, expanding our capabilities is critical. This investment reflects our commitment to the US market and enhances our strategic presence in Franklin,” said Orfeo Finocchi, Modula CEO.

As a result of the expansion, the facility will be able to produce up to 1,600 Modula per year, supporting Modula’s global growth, which has averaged 25% annual growth over the past five years. The project also includes the introduction of new technologies and automation, such as the in-house processing of steel coils, which is currently outsourced.

This expansion also includes major sustainability elements: the building will be equipped with high-efficiency HVAC systems and large glass surfaces to maximize natural light. The use of solar panels on the roof is also planned, subject to final approvals.

“We have designed this facility with an eye on the future, with dedicated access, a 30-ton overhead crane, and areas designed for further investment in specialized machinery,” said Enrico Bondi, Director of Operations. “In the medium term, we also anticipate greater use of robotics in production and assembly processes.”

The investment adds to the initial 2019 investment of $26.5 million, bringing Modula’s total investment in the Franklin area to more than $60 million.
