Safran is a French company specialized in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft engines.
The Modula vertical automated warehouses: a valid help to speed up the interventions on the motors
The collaborative relationship between Safran and Modula began in 2013 and since then 7 vertical automated warehouses have been installed which have made it possible to recover 80% of space on the ground and have improved the traceability of the products stored.
Safran’s first goal was to bring the components closer to the technicians to allow faster interventions on the engines.
Traceability, optimization, picking precision and stock management convinced Safran to install 3 additional machines to store consumer products.
Two of these Modula are with double external bay and have been intended for the storage of bulky and heavy components.
Modula can be customized without problems: for example, the trays of a unit have been covered with foam to protect delicate tools.
