We also think horizontal with the installation of 1 Modula HC in Marposs
The history of Marposs is told, in part, in our 20 Modula vertical warehouses. But recently the Bentivoglio warehouse has made room for a newcomer, the Modula HC.
In the incoming materials department, the new horizontal carousel will handle over 500 picks per day.
As Paolo Osti, Manufacturing Engineering Manager of Marposs, says: “To say that we chose Modula HC only because there was a shortage of height space would be reductive.
Modula HC is a combination of technology, efficiency and precision that fits perfectly with the needs of a department like this, with the visual picking aids it is equipped with and the advanced Modula WMS software that animates it.
A few numbers, which we always like to mention:
- 20 metres long x 3 metres high;
- 856 shelves;
- 107 bins;
- 300 picks/hour for 1500 articles;
- 113 kg capacity per shelf;
- 145 cubic metres of stored volume.
Translated into a nutshell, the space once occupied by goods has now given way to new offices and new testing departments.
Fun fact: Marposs has a special passion for customised put-to-light. In fact, in its warehouse there is, next to the Modula Lift, a special put-to-light system made up of several accommodations resembling a beehive, in which the operator places the incoming goods and gradually completes the orders until consolidation.
