Solidarity as well as storage systems: a helping hand from Modula

15 June 2023

We’ve always used our strength to store heavy products, but now we’re also using it for other reasons.

In recent weeks, a number of coastal provinces in our home region of Emilia-Romagna have been hit by severe floods that caused huge damage not only to local families but also to businesses in the area.

Booker T. Washington once said: “Lay hold of something that will help you, and then use it to help somebody else.”

With this in mind, we wanted to do something in our own way to try to help our neighbours at a tough time.

We collected voluntary donations from the Modula staff, the company added to them and then we transferred the entire amount into the bank account that has been specially opened to raise funds for the affected areas by the Emilia-Romagna Civil Protection Department.

All of our thoughts are with the people of Romagna and everyone who is bravely tackling the situation.

The floods were also on our mind and made us look at things differently at the first Modula Family Day, which took place at our Italian headquarters in Salvaterra on Sunday 28 May.

The entire event revolved around sustainability: we had low-waste disposable snack packs made and all unused packs were donated to local schools. All of the toys that weren’t given to children as gifts were donated to ASEOP (the Association to Support Childhood Blood Cancer Patients) in Modena, thus contributing to our dual goal of reducing waste while supporting the volunteers who look after children in hospital every day.
