Modula Lift is the most widely installed automated warehouse system in the Modula range, with more than 35,000 installations worldwide. Thanks to its versatility and the wide range of available configurations, it is the ideal solution for meeting virtually any storage requirement in automated vertical storage systems.

Designed as a vertical lift module (VLM), Modula Lift operates according to the goods-to-person principle: products are stored in internal trays and automatically delivered to the picking bay whenever required. The central elevator identifies the requested tray, moves it, and brings it to the operator, making picking operations faster, more ergonomic, and more controlled.

Self-supporting structure

Modula Lift is self-supporting up to a height of 21 meters, meaning that no additional support structures are required, helping reduce installation and maintenance costs.

With Modula Lift, it is possible to select a dual-level delivery system to work with two trays at the same time: while one tray is in the bay, the other is being prepared for the next picking operation.

Alternatively, an external bay can be selected, making operations easier when mechanical aids such as lifters, manipulators, zero-gravity lifting devices, or overhead cranes are used.

Picking can also be carried out simultaneously on two sides of the vertical storage machine with an opposite bay, or on different floors of the same building with a multi-level bay.

The History and Innovation Behind the Automated Vertical Tray Storage System

Modula Lift originated from a pioneering project developed in 1987 by Modula President and Founder Franco Stefani, who set out to create a faster and more efficient solution for storing materials required by the electrical departments of his companies.

The goal was to create a faster and more efficient alternative to the carousels and vertical storage systems available at the time.

Since then, the project has evolved significantly, redefining the concept of the vertical lift and substantially changing its structure and operation through the introduction of a central elevator that moves between two storage columns, one at the front and one at the rear, where the trays are stored.
